LINCATS Pilot Program Eligibility

Submission Period Now Open! Deadline 16 October 2023, 11:59 PM

Eligibility

All postdoctoral fellows and faculty affiliated with the LINCATS network (Brookhaven National Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor, Northport VA Medical Center, Stony Brook University and all Stony Brook Medicine-affiliated healthcare locations) are eligible to apply. We will prioritize early career, under-represented groups, women, health disparities-focused clinical and translational science, and collaborative projects across institutions. Preference will be given to non-funded and new lines of research for the applying investigator.

Awardees will also benefit from research support from our Research Concierge, providing aid in:

  1. Regulatory submission through approval
  2. Data Capture and OnCore subject tracking
  3. Pilot Tracking, to ensure the project meets specified milestones, including timely reporting
  4. Resource Access to all LINCATS services
  5. Monitoring and projecting study budgets

How to Apply

Access the Submittable portal using the link at the top of the page (available when submission period is open). Choose the Pilot Program, and enter basic details of your project as requested and upload your proposal.

The LINCATS Pilot Program application is modeled as an abbreviated NIH R21, and the packet will have these components:

  1. Application face sheet, including designation of URG and/or early career faculty status (this will be a form in the submission portal)
  2. Research Approach, including a Lay summary, Aims, and a Statement on the translational science barrier addressed (up to 3 pages)
  3. References (unlimited)
  4. Budget/Justification and Timeline for project completion and external funding application (up to one page)
  5. NIH Biosketch of Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators

We also require a plan for dissemination. “Just in Time” information will be required from chosen awardees, to limit burden.
